Pivot Point Stilettos (for Honda Shadow VT1100)
"Sick!"
: Till now,
that's the best word we've heard to describe these four-inch-long
stiletto pivot point caps. Did we
invent this idea? Hardly! According to ancient historians, it was Cyrus the
Great, King of
the ancient Persian empire who was the first to add two-foot-long razor-sharp iron
scythes to the sides of his war chariots. (Our stiletto tips are
slightly rounded, so you can't
actually use them to cause bodily harm.)

This item will fit the following
motorcycles:

Honda VT1100: Sabre (2000 to 2007), Aero (1998-2002), A.C.E. (1995-1999), |

A.C.E. Tourer (1998-2001).

If you don't have the
factory exhaust pipes, make sure your pipes are not covering the chrome pivot
cap, or you won't be able to install them on that side of the bike. Also, if you
have after-market pipes, make sure they do not run too close to the pivot cap,
or possibly the heat off the pipes will affect the chrome Stiletto Covers. These
are some after-market Sabre pipes that don't
interfere: RoadHouse 65s |

"No way!"
: Even if you don't hear them say it, that's exactly what
everyone is thinking when
they see you pull up on your 1100cc "war chariot".
Heavy-duty steel insides solidly grip the pivot arm frame member. A glistening
chrome plated,
super-tough
ABS "spike" covers everything. Only the monstrous spike is visible
after installation.
Installation is
super easy! No special
tools are required. Should take you less than 10 minutes.
(Detailed installation instructions are included with each product.)
Note:
Not that it's a big deal, but like many custom bike mods, (such as moving your
controls forward), it takes a couple of rides to get used to the changes. In the
case of the "stilettos", you may need to make a small adjustment in the way you
lower your kickstand to avoid bumping into the side
of the spike. Not that you will hurt the spike or your leg. The spike is not
sharp enough to hurt you, but at the same time it has a rubber cushioned mount
that will absorb small shock. (See the photos below that show this possible situation and the
simple remedy.) Just like anything else, it quickly becomes second nature.

In lowering your
kickstand, if you are conscious of the presence of the Pivot Stiletto,
it is very easy to turn your foot a little to avoid bumping into the
"spike". (The stiletto is quite solid so you're not easily going to knock it
off if you bump into it.)
Once you've done it a few times, it becomes
automatic. |

note: For those who already have installed the
CruiserFX Pivot Covers, these stilettos will work with them.
