Inside the headlamp of your bike is probably a standard halogen bulb, which produces light with a color temperature of 3200°K, which means it is towards the "yellow" end of the light spectrum). If the human eye had been designed to see best in yellow light, then there would be no need to think about a different bulb technology.

The Extreme White bulb allows your eye to see much better because it produces light with a color temperature of 4000°K. The addition of pressurized xenon gas inside the glass chamber causes the filament to produce a much "whiter" light than the standard halogen. The Extreme White approaches the color and intensity of H.I.D.
