You know there is something abrupt
about the way your forks end. Why couldn't the bike manufacturer make a fork
that simply tapers down to a point. Well, CruiserFX has done it. Our 4" long
fork Spikes and Bullets go from a 2.1 inch diameter and taper down to a
rounded point.
Made from super-tough
ABS, the glasslike surface of these chrome plated
parts will completely transform your forks!
The addition of the chrome spikes or bullets to the stock forks makes a huge difference!
Installation is
super easy! No special
tools are required. (Should take you about 2 minutes.)
Mounting is achieved through the use
of a high-tech,
industrial quality adhesive system to firmly attach them to the flat
bottom surface of your forks.
(For more details, you may download the complete
installation instructions.)
If at some
future time you need to remove them temporarily, then to reinstall, simply
purchase the additional adhesive disks which are sold separately.

Dude. Are you kidding? Stick
them onto the bottom of the forks with glue?!
Yes and No. First the "No". They
are not stuck on with glue, however we are serious about
attaching them with a special adhesive. Please note that this is no ordinary adhesive. We use an adhesive mounting system that
is used by NASA in
constructing the space shuttle. Many of the internal frame parts of the
shuttle are not welded to each other. Instead, they are bonded to each other
using this same industrial adhesive tape. Why does NASA use the same
adhesive tape that CruiserFX uses? Because over time, weld can fatigue from
vibration. The materials in this special tape are designed to withstand huge
temperature variations, shock, and vibrations without losing its grip or strength.
I know, we have all bought
accessories from Wal-Mart or the auto parts store that attach with an adhesive
strip and a day later it falls off. Our adhesive tape is very different. You
can't get it at the auto parts store nor your local Ace Hardware! (If you have a
buddy that works at NASA, he might be able to get you a small piece.)
To this date, CruiserFX has sold
hundreds of these fork ends and have never received a report of one falling off
spontaneously from normal use. (We did receive a report of a bike that was run
over by a freight train, was dragged under the locomotive for a mile, and one of
the fork spikes was no longer attached.)
Bottom Line: If you carefully
follow the included installation instructions (which are quite easy), once they
are installed the only way you can get them off is to grab one
firmly with both hands and tear it off using a good amount of effort on your part.

Additional Fitment
Notes:
|
As stated above, these universal spikes will fit
any fork end that is flat and has no protruding screws or bolts. If they have an
opening in the bottom (as seen in the photo below) that is fine as long
as it is not larger than about 3/4" across.
The specific bikes mentioned fit this
description however it doesn't hurt to verify that your bike was built this
way. Very rarely a bike will be produced that is different from the majority
of the models produced that year.
In case you were wondering, the surface does not
have to be perfectly flat. The special
foam tape will conform to minor surface irregularities. However, lay a straight
edge along the surface. If it is slightly "concave" (or inward-curving) you will
need to purchase the additional adhesive disks to bridge the curve.
|
Most forks on cruisers are
about 2.12" in diameter. Our universal spikes and bullets are 2.1" in
diameter. So many forks will have close to the exact same diameter. However,
quite a few of these have machined "flats" along the inside and outside of
the fork ends. Since our fork spikes are perfectly round, you may notice
that while the front and rear of the forks will be flush with our spikes,
the sides may overhang a little (as shown in the photo below.) Even so, we
think they still look awesome! |
