Lighting the roadway at night has
always been a major concern for operators of motorcycles. Many
higher-end motorcycles now employ crystal headlight technology, which projects
light more effectively at the road surface. In addition, crystal lights are
also considered by many to be beautiful works of art. CruiserFX is proud to offer the Ice
Crystal Headlight along with the optional Extreme White H4 Xenon
filled halogen bulb. Better nighttime
lighting saves lives. It leads to earlier and improved recognition of traffic
signs, pedestrians, cyclists, road debris, and other objects, which is vital in
preventing accidents.

I've had the Ice Crystal headlight for about a year and a half... The road I
ride every day is listed as the statistically most dangerous road in
Virginia ... I really appreciate the ice crystal
headlight.

New Product: LED HALO
Ice Crystal Headlight
Similar headlight to the
popular Ice Crystal, with the
addition of 34 White or Yellow LEDs giving the headlight a rather
"futuristic" look. Similar to the halo lights of the higher end BMW and Audi
cars. Worried about the extra current draw? Don't be. Although these are
very bright LEDs, all 34 together draw less than 1 watt of power! The LEDs
will not by themselves light up the road, but they add additional front
visibility for oncoming drivers. Since the LEDs are recessed into the
headlight, we do not recommend using them as your only front turn signals
since they would not be visible to drivers to the sides of you.
Halo with White LEDs
Halo with Yellow
LEDs
Either the Yellow or White Halo headlight can be wired so that the LEDs come on with the
turn signal lights. (Please see the video to the right to see the turn
signal function in action.) Or they can be wired to come on with the Low or
High beam of the headlight circuit.
This product comes with wires and
connectors to either connect them to the turn signal circuit, or with the
Low or High beam.
Wiring these is truly "Plug and Play" with the included custom cables.
(Though it can function as a turn signal, we do not recommend removing the
factory front turn signals since the LEDs are not visible from the sides,
only from the front.)
It is also possible to run an
independent power cable with a switch to be able to turn them on and off
independently of any other lights, however we do not supply the wiring to
accomplish this.
The headlight itself uses a
standard H4 halogen bulb (included). However, especially with the White
version, we recommend you purchase one of our Extreme White halogen Xenon
filled bulbs which produces a whiter light that more closely matches the
white light produced by the LEDs.
The above video shows the Halo headlight
operating at night, and during the daytime having been wired into the turn
signal circuit.
Even when the Halo headlight
is turned off, it has that pleasing Ice Crystal look.
You may notice in the above
photo that the Halo model of the Crystal headlight series has a flatter
front lens than the standard Crystal headlight.
Blue Jewel
Ice Crystal Headlight
Same headlight as the standard Ice Crystal, with the
addition of a cut glass jewel in the center of the primary reflector,
generating a cool blue sparkle when seen from a distance.
Extreme White
(4000°K) Xenon filled H4 halogen bulb (60/55W)
Inside the headlamp of your bike is probably a
standard halogen bulb, which produces light with a color temperature of
3200°K, which means it is towards the "yellow" end of the light spectrum). If the human eye
had been designed to see best in yellow light, then there would be no need
to think about a different bulb technology.
The Extreme White bulb allows
your eye to see much better because it produces light with a color
temperature of 4000°K. The addition of pressurized xenon gas inside the
glass chamber causes the filament to produce a much "whiter" light than the standard halogen.
The Extreme White approaches the color and intensity of H.I.D.
The Ice Crystal Headlight is whiter and brighter than the traditional
headlight housing. It is DOT, SAE and ECE approved, so no matter where you ride in the
world, you are totally street-legal.
The
headlight is 7" in diameter, and has a 4.5" O/A height. (The smooth, crystal-clear glass
lens has about a 1" curve from the sides to the center.)
The common stock
headlight typically uses a fresnel lens (invented in 1822) to direct the
light output. [It is also uninspiring and dull.]
The
CruiserFX Ice Crystal Headlight has a smooth clear lens and
utilizes the latest multi-faceted reflector to direct the light output. This puts more light
on the road surface where you need it.
It also looks awesome and transports your bike into the 21st century.
