Fork-mount Driving Light Kit
(Universal applications)
Driving light kits are available for many
specific bikes (see the appropriate web page for your bike make and model).
However, some may wish to mount the lights in a more custom configuration, or
perhaps their specific bike model is not listed in the CruiserFX website. This
web page offers additional sizing information of the lighting kits, that may
allow you to mount the lights in a unique way.

Recent comments about our Complete Lighting Kit:
The installation went great!! This is by far the best set of instructions that I have had to follow in a long time. The light kit is such excellent quality and very easy to install. It took me about two hours but, I am a very meticulous person when it comes to my machines. Hats off to you and your crew for manufacturing such a great product. Please keep me informed of new products as they arrive. Terry from El Dorado, AR

If you aren't sure what your fork cover diameter
is, and don't have a tool to measure the diameter, then here's an easy way to
select the correct kit for your application: Take a sheet of paper,
and cut a 1 inch long strip from the long side of the paper. Now take that strip
of paper and wrap it around the fork cover. Make a mark on the paper where it
overlaps itself. Now lay the strip of paper on a flat surface, and with a ruler
measure the distance from the edge of the paper, to the mark you made. This
distance is the circumference of your fork. Compare this number to the
circumference range listed above for each type of kit. |
Depending on
the
fork type (Covered, Uncovered or Inverted) of your stock motorcycle,
the
brackets are designed to mount in one of three possible ways:
| Covered Forks |
Uncovered Forks |
Inverted Forks |
 |
 |
 |
| For forks that have
decorative chrome covers. the brackets can be placed anywhere on the covers. |
Brackets are designed to
wrap around the top of the lower fork case. |
Brackets wrap around the
fork case near the lower triple tree bracket. |

| Why do you NEED auxiliary lights?
SAFETY is the number one reason. |
|
 |
 |
| As you approach an
intersection from a distance, you are not very visible to the driver who is
about to take a left turn onto the road you are coming down! However, with
the CruiserFX Auxiliary Lighting kit, the driving lights mounted to your fork
covers make you much more noticeable! (As the above unedited photos show.) |
|
How well do they light the
road at night? |
  |
| This is a
little difficult to properly illustrate, but the above photos give you an
idea. The photo on the left is with only the headlight on. The photo on the
right has the headlight on and the driving lights on. In reality, the lights
are brighter than the photos indicate |

As these photos show,
function and beauty are the chief attributes of this one-of-a-kind
kit. Using these
chrome brackets with
driving lights gives
your cruiser an awesome look while significantly increasing your visibility to
oblivious drivers. Our brackets utilize a unique rubber shock mount which will
increase the life of the bulb in your bullet lights. Made from heavy-duty 16 gauge
steel
makes them a very functional and beautiful addition to your chrome plated fork
covers. |

The headlight
kit comes with a 3-piece harness. The front piece is covered with a chrome
wire cover (plastic). All the wiring harness cables are encased in a thick vinyl
spiral cable cover that protects the wires from getting damaged.
The lighting
kit
comes with a 12 volt relay and replaceable fuse. So they have a completely
independent power source from the battery. (Some other light kits have you
draw all the power for the additional lights from the existing headlight
circuit, which could cause you to blow that circuit or cause a fire!)
We include a
14 page step-by-step
installation manual with many photos. Installation should
take about 90 minutes. Our experiences
with this kit have shown that anyone (who is a least a little bit
"mechanically inclined") will be able to use the included step-by-step
manual to install these lights. |
The included
rocker switch can be mounted on any flat surface near the headlight. (Or you
can wire the driving lights without a separate switch.) |
 |
 |
 |

The driving light housings are made from
chrome-plated steel with an outside diameter of 4", and a depth of 3". The
lights have glass lenses which focus the beam into a tight "spot light"
pattern. These use industry standard 55 watt, type H3 halogen bulbs. All mounting screw heads are covered with
chrome caps for a "clean" look.
The
Complete Lighting Kit comes with everything you will need.
You
only
supply some basic tools.
(The
installation manual provides a list of the tools you will need.)
Depending on your particular bike model, the brackets
are be installed anywhere along
the fork covers (covered forks), or at the top of the lower fork housing
(uncovered forks). |

|
If you wish to use your own
driving lights and harness, you may purchase the brackets separately. |

If you buy the brackets only, they will work with
any lights that have a 5/16" or 3/8" mounting stud that is
at
least 1.25" long.
Read the
bracket installation
instructions for more information.)
